365 polish for a year challenge: day 48

Oh man I this color. It's a blue, no it's a green, no it's just beautiful! I fell in love with this color the moment I laid eyes on it! I have been so happy with all the Revlon colors I've used, and have been so happy with all these new colors coming out for the fall season.

 Brand:Revlon
Name: Fashionista
coats:3
pigment:a dark teal almost on the edge of a deep green
price:$2.00

This color is just gorgeous, deep and flirty

Fell in love with this bottle!
I added some triangle gems to pop a bit of color
Been loving my gems lately! I forgot how much fun it was to play with shapes and colors!

365 polish for a year challenge: day 47

Today is another first time polish use from Essence Color. Now I think they're only carried in Ulta but I'm not sure. I found this tiny polish in my local Ulta a few weeks ago. The price can't be beat, but I've gone to other Ulta locations and they always seem to be sold out. I'm not sure if new colors are coming or something like that, but the rack was almost empty! I'm talking maybe 5 bottles on the entire display. I can say I am not disappointed with  this reasonably price polish.

 Brand:Essence Color
Name: Walk on Air
coats:3
pigment: a deep cobalt blue
price:$.99

A beautiful cobalt blue, great shine and a nice bright pigment
The bottle size reminds me of Bon Bon polish (tiny, and the same price) but I can understand why the rack was almost empty, these polishes are beautiful!
To spring a little life into my maniI added two neon metallic green stripes down to polish.
For the stripes I used Sinful Colors art brush in Worn Before. I love how the colors compliment each other so well, and how the green makes the blue pop just a little bit more.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 46

quick post today before I head out!
 Brand: Revlon
Name:Dreamer
coats:3
pigment:a sky blue with a bit of a gray under hue
price: $2.00
A smooth sky blue with a bit of a gray under tone to it
Now that I look at it, the color kinda borders on a baby blue
I added a sparkle coat of Radiant over it to bring a little bit of zing!
Looking at this I should have added a different sparkle other than a blue and silver sparkle, but I couldn't resist two blue tones together!

365 polish for a year challenge: day 45

So I have been told by about three people to rock a watermelon nail, please do a watermelon nail...well you finally get your watermelon nails! Now I was a bit stumped, I didn't want to copy everyone out there. So it took me a bit of encouragement and a super "duh" moment to realize I could use some of my nail beads for the seeds! Here it is, you finally get your juicy watermelon nails!!
 Brand:Loreal
Name: Amazon's Flare
coats:3
pigment:a bright vibrant pink
price: $2.00
As a base I started off with one of my favorite lines, Loreal! I picked up Amazon's Flare at Job Lot's a while back. It was a sheer polish so it needed 3 coats. I let the polish fully dry.
This is a bright but not to the point of being neon pink, a lovely shade
Next I used my french tip stickers and filled them in with Sally Hansen's Green With Envy, a perfect color for the middle shade. I hit that with a fast drying top coat
I used this polish a few days back, you know how I love my green!
Next I went over the tips (freehand) with Sinful Colors Worn Before nail art brush, adding the darker tips
My watermelon nails are almost done, one more step!
Now for the seeds! I dug into my art tools and found my collection of teardrop beads, and used the black ones for the seeds!
I feel this make the whole look unique and real to life. Adds a bit of texture and realness to the design! I am so happy with how it came out! Adorable and fun! Thank you everyone for the nail design suggestion! So happy with the end design!

365 polish for a year challenge: day 44

Now I picked up an Orly manicure kit on clearance a while back and finally busted it out to try this polish line out for the first time. The original price was $15.00 but I found this little kit on clearance for $7.99 plus I had a 20% off coupon, how could I resist?

 Brand:Orly
Name: Cosmic FX manicure kit (black is liquid vinyl, shimmer is space cadet)
coats: 2
pigment:a true black base coat with a multi shimmer effect overcoat
price: $7.99

A nice cream black as a base color. No top coat need to have a wonderful shine!

A high gloss black, went on smoothly using two coats

I used the nail stickers to create a halfmoon effect with the top color. Space Cadet is a beautiful multi shimmer polish with shades ranging from brown, pink, green and gold!

It's like having a rainbow in a bottle!

i did hit it with a matte coat to finish the look (I know I've been doing that a lot recently) and had to take the flash off to show off the multi color effect of the polish. Overall I had a very good experience with this polish my first time around. My only complaint is the regular price of the polish, but I can always stick with clearance. One other side note was that the nail stickers were very sticky and I had to stick them to my table a few times to dull the adhesive before putting it on my nails.

quick crackle post

I posted photos on my facebook page but wanted to update here on a crackle line that I am in love with! Now please excuse some of the photos and the quality, they were taken on my phone when I was out of state. But I have found my go to crackle line. It was Sally Hansen until I had some bad results with the polish being to sheer and the metallic not crackling. Now I have come to a conclusion that glitter/metallic crackles just don't work. But I have found that Pure Ice regular crackles work the best! I have nothing but great results with it!

This is a great result! I hit it with a matte coat but look at the crackle effect! I picked this up at my local Walgreens a while back in this haul back in April. It was clearance in a double pack and to my surprise it has worked the best for me.

This is the same polish over green without a matte coat. As you can see still comes out in a great crackling effect for under $2.00???

Don't mind the blurry photo or the sloppy application. This is the red crackle over purple (reminds me of a sentinel from X-men comics) Great results, and I hit this one again with a matte finish as well. I hope you enjoyed this quick update, and maybe share you good/bad experience with any nail polishes out there.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 43

If I had a close to perfect purple shade, this would be it. This is a bit on the gray side but it still a beautiful purple. Its not super bright, and not overly deep. I do love that there is a bit of shimmer to it, and the sparkle just add a touch of flirtiness to the color.

Brand: Revlon
Name: Royal Cloak
coats:3
pigment:a medium purple color with shimmer and sparkle bits
price: $.99

A nice rich purple, deep with a hint of shimmer and sparkles. I almost skipped out on this color, but I scooped it up and glad I did.

I didn't do anything extra with this color because I felt that it would stand out on it's own. I almost hit it with a matte coat but held off. A very lovely and a bit on the sophisticated side of purple.
