365 polish for a year challenge: day 304-311

Hello everyone! Oh man, I had a very fun and busy week of training for my new job. We got approved for OT so I worked a good 50+ hours in 5 days. I am just catching up on my missed updates. I am keeping this short and sweet due to lack of sleep and jet-lag.
Brand:Sally Hansen
Name: Junpin' Jade
coats: 2
pigment:a deep metallic forest green
price: $1.00
Found this hidden gem at Dollar Tree when they started getting Sally Hansen Insta-dri polishes in. Lovely coverage and a beautiful deep and reflective glossy finish.

Name: Ramblin' Red
pigment:a deep violet red
price: $.75 (clearance)
A deep and seductive red with a hint of violet in in. A beautiful and glossy finish with a creamy application. I am starting to become a big fan of this line of polish.
Brand: Sinful Colors
Name: Cinderella
coats: 3
pigment:a pastel blue with small multicolored flakies
price: $1.99
I have had this polish FOREVER! I finally got around to using it! Let me tell you why I waited so long to wear this well know SC polish. I was worried it would be super sheer, super thin and take 8 coats to get full coverage. Well I was surprised to see it only took 3 coats for full coverage.
 Brand: NYC
Name:  Spring Tulip
pigment:a pink bordering on the orange side
price: $1.99
I'm not a big pink or orange fan, but when I get a polish with a great pigment and full coverage in 2 coats...well I can make room in my hear for it. This was part of a LE release for NYC's spring collection. I have to say they stepped up their game with this line. Fast dry, bring and beautiful with a glossy finish. A total must have color for the spring/summer time mani or pedi!
Brand:Wet N' Wild
Name: Hog-Quartz School
coats: 2
pigment:a metallic purple with silver undertone
price: $1.99(clearance)
I was lucky enough to find this polish on clearance from $3.99 to $1.99 in a Walgreens. I remember when this line came out last year and I wanted to try it soooo badly, but I didn't like the $4.00 price tag. Well I found every color but green for $1.99 each! Beautiful shine and metallic polish always have great coverage!
I added a simple mermaid tail design in black to add a like fun to this look
Brand: Revlon
Name:Sunshine Sparkle
coats: 3
pigment:a pastel yellow with a white shimmer undertone
price: $1.29 (clearance)
I found this polish back when CVS had their spring clearance sale. I got this for an amazing $1.29! I really like the color of this yellow. Simple and pastel with a light shimmer undertone.
So I added my new favorite HC mixed glitter Black Tie Optional on top of this lovely yellow polish, and it them both with a matte top coat. I think this look is just so playful, and that HC glitter works with anything!!
 Brand: LA Colors
Name: Reckless
pigment:a violet with blue undertones
price: $1.49
I adore this color. A perfect balance of blue and purple in this gorgeous color. I found this in an LA Colors display with a mix of medium and neon polishes. I seriously can't tell you how beautiful this color is in person. If you enjoy wearing cool color polishes then this should be a great addition to your collection.
Name: Purple Streak
coats: 2
pigment:a dark purple textured polish
price: free
They finally came in! I won a contest on Instagram a while back and never got my set of textured polishes. I contacted them and well I got them! I wanted to try the purple first to see how it turns out. I was a like on the hesitant side when I saw some of the nail drying flat with no texture, but it didn't fully dry in that area.
I did 2 coats and then I hit it with a matte top coat to still get protection but not add any gloss. I'll try out more colors soon, but so far it was really cool. My only complaint is that it feels like my nails catch on my blankets a bit with the graininess of the polish.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 298-303

My what a super busy week I've had! Training, healing, sunshine, rain and a wonderful turkey dinner! Now I have a moment to sit down and post up some photos! Just a note, I am flying out of state for more training next week. I don't think I am going to post on the road with 8hr days and an unknown roomie that may or may not like nail polish. I will update when I return! I'm flying out Monday morning and returning Friday evening, so maybe an update next Saturday. But enough about work, let's get onto the polish!

Brand: Essence
Name:  N/A
pigment:a bright neon green
price: $1.99

I was in the mood for a nice bright green, so I reached for this polish. This was part of Essence's last polish release I believe. One of the harder polishes to find around here because of the great colors and great price (I can only find it at Ulta) A smooth and creamy coverage with wonderful bright pigment.
To make this manicure a little more unique I added an accent nail to my ring finger. I used Blue Me Away by Sally Hansen as the dark blue, and then used LA Colors Sea Foam as the light teal. I think these colors work so well together!
Brand: Rimmel London
Name:  Sweet Lavender
coats: 3
pigment:a pastel lilac polish
price: $1.98
I was feeling a bit of a lighter and softer color, so I reached for this lovely pastel polish from Rimmel London. I love this formula! Quick drying, beautiful pigment and a smooth finish.
To add a little flair to this mani I added a coat of Quartz Of Course by Wet N' Wild. I think they work very well together with the chunky purple and silver glitters.
Name:  Gold Album
pigment:a metallic gold polish
price: free (from sister)
I found this polish in a bag I borrowed from my sister, and well I kept it! A simple metallic gold polish with beautiful coverage in an easy two coats. A smooth finish and beautiful color.
I added Hard Candy's Black Tie Optional over this gold to add a bit of attitude. I love this muli sized and shaped polish. It reminds me of a lot of the indie polishes that I've seen out there, without the $10 a bottle price tag. I don't think you can go wrong with this over any color!
Name: black (89)
pigment:a simple jet black polish
price: $1.99
I did this mani last week after seeing cutepolish 's video up on youtube. I've seen this design around and gave in after seeing how damn adorable it is. I used a simple glossy black polish as a base. I'm a fan of Jordana polishes, a good formula for a good price.
I used LA Colors Sea Foam as a fill in color and hit this mani with a topcoat to make these cartoon nails come to life! I really enjoyed wearing this mani! So different and fun, and kinda plays a trick on people's eyes!
Brand:City Color
Name:  sk-12002
coats: 3
pigment:a medium gray with a gold shimmer undertone
price: $.75 (clearance)
I wanted to start a mani off with a deep color and use some neons to make this mani pop! This was the first time using City Color, and I have to say I did enjoy this polish. My only complaint was that the polish handle was a bit on the bulky side and was a bit odd to hold.
After my polish dried I used a bunch of neons on my nails with random splatter designs. It reminded me of Nick back in the day with a bunch of different colored slime! It was nice to bring in all these fun pops of color
Brand: Finger Paints
Name:  Late Night Rendezvous
pigment:a bright glitter blue polish
price: $1.60
I have had this polish sitting around for about a year or so. I think I just forgot about it. It caught my eye and I wanted it, but I just didn't know what to do with it. So I kept it plain and simple. I got full coverage with 3 coats with a nice glitter coverage.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 292-297

Hello everyone!  I am going to do 5 different polishes today, and then 4 tomorrow to make up all the updates I have missed. Well I had a sinus infection and bronchitis, that's why I've been sick for the past two weeks. I went and saw my old physician and they gave me the proper medication so I can finally get back to normal! A little coughing and wheezing, but less sinus pressure and no more stuffy ears. Oy, what a nightmare that was.  Thank you to everyone for their well wishes, I will soon be back full swing! A side not, we are almost to 300 days of non-stop polish madness! This is crazy, getting close to a whole year of polish!

Name:  Rollin' Stone
pigment:a medium gray
price: $.75 (clearance)

I was lucky to find 4 bottles of this brand on clearance this past weekend. I was so happy with the coverage, formula and pigment. I'm glad I had a chance to grab a new company I've never tried before at an amazing price. I will keep an eye out for this brand again.

Brand: ELF
Name: N/A
pigment:a simple nude color
price: $10.00/14pc set
This was one of the colors that came in my 14pcs ELF polish sets. A simple nude polish with nice coverage. I only did 2 coats because I had a plan with mani.
I added some silver mixed glitter polish, round rhinestones and some pearl rounds to make this sparkling manicure to make this pop!

Brand: Color Club
Name:  Chelsea Girl
coats: 3
pigment:a bright cobalt blue
price: $9.99/7pc set
Oh this is a beautiful shade of blue. I got full coverage with 3 coats. I must admit the polish did get a little thick after having it open for a bit, but I just closed it and gave it a little shake and it was fine.
Keeping on the rhinestones I added a dot of gold polish and added a round golden rhinestone to add a little bit of flair to this look.

 Brand: Sally Hansen
Name:  Precious Peach
coats: 3
pigment:a light peach with white shimmer
price: free (gift)

A simple peachy polish with a white shimmer undertone. I must say it was a bit on the thin side, but it was a very lovely color.

I added a layer of Penny For Your Thoughts from the new WNW Fastdry release. It has an orange tone to it with mixed glitters in it. Brightened the color up a bit.

Brand:Color Club
Name:  Feelin' Groovy
coats: 3
pigment:a bright green
price: $9.99/7pc set

a bright and eye catching bright green. I got full coverage with 3 coats of this polish. I must say it was a bit on the thin side, so I almost did 4 coats but held off.
I know, I am having too much fun with my rhinestones. I decided to take some blue triangle rhinestones and put them by the cuticle. I think the colors looks great together and are simple yet playful!

Oh man what a weekend. I have a horrible cold that I've been fighting since last week. I went to the doctors, got some meds and I'm on the way to getting better. I've been lazing around the house, napping, drinking tea and chicken broth. Today I feel better, but not 100%. I'm on my way there, but for now let us focus on the polish! Yes, I found time to paint my nails in between my naps lol.
