365 polish for a year challenge: day 163 & 164

Happy Friday everyone! I worked during the  day and am finally back to relax, enjoy some hot coco (with marshmallows of course) and show off two more polishes. One of the polishes I forgot to take a before photo before I made the design on the nail, I just plain forgot..oops!

Brand: Sally Hansen
Name: Purple Pulse
coats: 1
pigment: a deep and sparkling purple
price: $.95 (clearance and coupon)
So here is the nail design over this fantastic deep sparking purple. I found this gem when the line went on clearance. I scooped it up with a coupon and my discount. Glad I did, this polish was so pigment and beautiful that it only took 1 coat for full coverage!

With the design I used some rhinestones and my stamping kit to make this adorable holly leaf design come to life. One of my coworkers suggested this design. I wanted to have a dark background so the stamp would stand out more. I think it worked out well ^_^

Brand: Sinful Colors
Name: Amethyst
coats: 2
pigment: a medium toned smooth purple
price: $1.99

I forgot about this color! I will scour my polish collection sometimes for forgotten polishes, or if something catches my eye. Well this is one of the forgotten polishes. This is a creamy medium purple that was so eye catching in the bottle, and more beautiful on the nail!

I can't remember if I got this polish in Spring or Summer, but it was a warmer season that I scooped this up. I don't know why I passed it up for so long!

I wanted to do a gradient nail design. I grabbed a medium pink polish and hit my nail with a sponge a few times to make this look come alive! I got so many people asking if I air brushed my nails or had a professional do it. Everyone was amazed at how simple it was to get this look, and told me they would try it out themselves. I hope everyone enjoyed today's looks!

365 polish for a year challenge: day 161 & 162

I have 2 different nail  colors by the same company!  So  occasional  I ask coworker what  color or even design I should do on my nails for the next day. Well I got one yesterday, dolphins. Seriously? It's super cold out, it snowed today and she requested dolphins??  Luckily I have my BM plates that have a dolphin design on it. I did another polish color but decided to keep it simple. I almost turned it into a holiday design, but found myself struggling to come up with a clever look.

Brand:NYC
Name: Mint Macaroon
coats: 2
pigment: a light robin's egg blue
price: $1.99
Oh what a delicious color this is! On the pastel side, a beautiful robin's egg blue. Ugh, such a smooth and wonderful coverage. It was a bit sheer in some spots on the nail but I really didn't worry about that.
I don't remember if this is part of the regular collection or if it was part of a limited edition set put out. Ugh, it's hard to keep track of some of these polishes!
A promised I took some gray polish and hit my nails with the dolphin nail stamp. Very play I must say!

Brand:NYC
Name:  Line Green
coats: 2
pigment: a  medium warm green
price: $1.99

Oh, this green is a very beautiful shade. But who am I kidding, I say that about every shade of green. This formula went on so smooth and had great coverage, pigment and shine.
I kept this polish simple, I couldn't figure out what to do with it! I almost did some red sparkle stripes down them, but held off. I wanted to let this polish stand out on it's own. I hope to make more holiday inspired nails with these next few weeks coming up. I really want it to snow a lot too! One more thing, my computer screen is still not working so I've been updating with my laptop. Please forgive me if they layout looks odd or font changes size...my laptop things it's awesome to update and tweak what I just posted.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 158-160

What a busy weekend I've had! My PC screen decided to not work so I am posting this from my laptop. I hope to have my screen back soon. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and some fun shopping this weekend! I three different polishes for you today, to make up for missed updates.

Brand:Sally Hansen
Name:  Golden-I
coats: 2
pigment: a metallic gold
price: $2.00

A very shimmery and eye catching metallic polish. This polish had great coverage with just two coats. I love how well this color reflects.
Part of the X-teme wear line, got this bottle when they were on sale 2/$4.00. This was when my polish love started to come to full bloom.
I took Loreal's Fancy Me from the Diamond collection and made it look like it was a gradient design. I just hit my nails half way down. The polish has a bit of a red look and kinda stained the polish, which added to the fading look.

These look so flirty and festive! This look came out better than I was hoping.

Brand: Sally Hansen
Name:  Celeb City
coats: 2
pigment: a metallic silver
price: $2.00

One of my other favorite metallic colors from the X-teme wear collection. I love how this looks like I am wearing foil on my nails. It reflects just as well as the gold polish.
Another great smooth coverage polish. A must have in any polish collection.
I took used a plate from BM and used little Christmas boxes as a design to go over my nails. I used Sally Hansen's Insta-dri colors Rapid Red and Mint Sprint. I must say the red got much better coverage than the green did. Still a very cute look.

Brand: Sinful Colors
Name:  Winter Wonder
coats: 3
pigment: a shimmer filled black polish
price: $ 1.99

This bottle caught my eye. The dark color mixed in with eye catching multi-colored shimmer was something I could not resist. It took 3 coats to get full coverage with this polish.
I left this polish as is, I couldn't do anything more to make it more beautiful. I love how it looks so unique, not just a simple dark polish with glitter. The small size of the glitter and the multiple colors make this color amazing. I got a lot of compliments on  this polish, and I gladly told them it was from Sinful Colors.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 155-157

Here is today's triple threat! I enjoyed sleeping in today, so delicious food and some great football! I'm back home with leftovers and some new nail polish colors.

Brand:Revlon
Name:  Punk
coats: 2
pigment: a light metallic green
price: $2.00
I only put 2 coats of this polish on to make sure I had a background color, but it wouldn't take away from the design I wanted.
This is a beautiful light metallic green polish. I found this at Job Lots during the summer.

To make this design a little more festive I made a simple and adorable turkey on my ring finger. I used a dotting tool to make this design. For the Feathers i used Pure Ice En Vogue and Vintage Glam. I also used Wet N' Wild  I Red A Good Book . for the body I used Loreal's Devotion. I think the look came out so cute! It was super easy too.
Brand: Barielle
Name: Provocative
coats:3
pigment: a light pink
price: $ $9.99 ( 5pc set)

I was feeling a natural color, and this totally made that happen. This is such a sweet and soft pink with wonderful smooth coverage.
I almost did some nail stamping on it, but held off. This creamy pink  looked lovely by itself so I held off doing anything to it.

Brand: Sinful Colors
Name: Grecian Sun
coats:3
pigment: a medium gray blue color
price: $1.99

Here I used a simple blue with a bit of a gray undertone to it. Sinful Colors released this color as part of a summer display this year. I remember scooping it up!

I took that color and turned it into adorable penguins! One of my friends sent me a photo suggesting the design. I've seen it before and held off for colder weather to pull off this look. Well I had no excuse, it's cold and it's the perfect time for these lil guys to be shown off! I used Sally Hansen's White On for the tummy, and Wet N' Wild Sunny Side up for the feet and beak.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 154

I just didn't know what color to wear today, so I was a rebel and just picked out a random bottle and ened up with Jessica polish. Now I've had a few of them on the sheer side on polish, and this color is one of them. Also to keep the look simple but playful I hit it with some mixed glitters and a matte top coat.

Brand: Jessica
Name: De-Lovely
coats:3
pigment: a sheer magenta bordering on red
price: $ $9.99 ( 5pc set)

This is after 3 coats, still sheer but has a lovely shine.
In the bottle it looks magenta, but on the nails it looks more red. This is the 2nd bottle that I've used that the color looks one way and dries another, I just can't win this week.
I used  Tazmanian Devil by Confetti to perk this look up, and also to make it more subdued I hit it with a sleek matte top coat finish.
I love  how the matte finish makes the color look more opaque, calms it down a little and helps the glitter stand out! I'm very tempted to start some Christmas inspired nails, but I am trying my best to hold off until after Thanks giving!!

365 polish for a year challenge: day 152 & 153

Working hard this weekend, and finally have time to sit down and do my nails! I asked on my FB page what colors I should do. I got a few suggestions with a metallic color and purple. I was going to do both, but got tricked by one color in the bottle!!

Brand: Funky Fingers
Name:Monster Ballad
coats:2
pigment: a metallic pink
price: $ 3/ $5.00

Here we have a simple pink metallic polish. This polish had wonderful coverage on the first coat! To play it safe I hit my nails with another coat, ya never know!
I haven't stopped into a Five Below in a while, I know they change the colors up now and again. Maybe if I get some free time I'll hop down to one and check out their color selection. Such a great price on a very great polish line.

Brand:Loreal
Name: After Hours
coats:2
pigment: a deep teal that looks purple in the bottle
price: $4.99

This color sooooo tricked me. In the bottle it looks like a seductive deep purple, when I went to do my first coat I was shocked to see it was really a deep blue/teal color.
You can even see in this photo, the color in the bottle looks purple! I've never run into a polish that looked like a different color in the bottle, and turned out out be totally different (until now) Also it was a bit on the thin side for coverage. As you can see some of the polish dried thin, and can really be seen with the flash of my camera.
I wanted to mix another color in, but didn't have a lot of time for my nails to dry. So I decided to hit it with a crackle top coat from Pure Ice called Crushed. A semi metallic orange color that I think works well with the deep teal.
I also hit it with a matte top coat. I don't know why, but when I use crackle I like to have it be matte and not glossy, am I the only one that likes that finish on crackle?

365 polish for a year challenge: day 151

I wanted to do a winter like design, but not mix red and green (not yet) So I went with a bright green and a simple blue snowflake design to welcome some colder weather up in New England (yes, we've had snow already) while using a color brighter than people usually use this time of year.

Brand:L.A. Colors
Name: N/A
coats: 3
pigment: a bright neon green
price: $6.99 ( Halloween set)

This color went on thinly, but had full coverage after 3 coats

Still using colors from my Halloween set I picked up. I really wish they had names for the colors in this set.
Here are my simple blue snowflakes from my BM set. My stamping skills seem to be improving!

365 polish for a year challenge: day 149 & 150

I worked both jobs yesterday and had no free time to update, so today I have 2 nail polishes for you! I finally tried out my magnetic nail polishes! I know, I bought them back in July? I also tried one of the nail polishes I found on clearance from Halloween!

Brand: Fantasy Maker (WNW)
Name:Nail In The Coffin
coats: 2
pigment: a simple black with small multi-colored glitters
price: $.79 (clearance)

Here is a cute little polish I picked up last week because it was on clearance! I saw this when it came out for $1.99 a bottle. I loved the small glitter floating in the black polish, just made it look so unique.
I love how to the color came out, but my only complaint is the the little tombstone is hard to hold, and the brush is a bit on the cheap side. Understandable I did get this for a steal, so I can deal with it.

Brand: Finger Paints
Name: Electro-Midnight
coats: 2
pigment: a medium metallic blue that is magnetic
price: $1.79 (clearance)

This color starts off a semi light blue, very reflective. I must say, it dries very very smooth!

So after my first coat I hit it with a thicker coat (one nail at a time) and then put the magnet over the polish. Now I did bump my nail a few times with the magnet, and in doing that I had to repaint a thin coat to redo the design
Other than the bumps on my half this polish comes out beautiful. You have a mixture of dark and light blues that reflect so beautifully together . My only wish? To get more magnet designs, and possibly a few more colors. This is so easy to do, and a great

way to have creative nails without any hassle.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 148

I was feeling the gloomy rain outside today, so I wanted to go with a light blue color today. I also wanted to use some of my nail stamping plates to give it a little attitude.

Brand: NYC
Name: Cashmere Queen
coats: 3
pigment: a light metallic shimmer blue
price: $.99

A nice light shimmering metallic blue
 NYC make some beautiful shades
I used Pure Ice Internationally Known with a stamping plate design
I missed a bit with the stamping, but then again I never claimed to be an expert! I'm still working on my stamping skills. Also I had to file my nails down a little bit, they have been chipping like crazy!  I have been washing my hands and using hand sanitizer during the colder season. I just need to hit my nails with more nail treatments to keep them stronger!!
