365 polish for a year challenge: day 30

wow! We are already at day 30!  It's going by so quickly! Yesterday was filled with thunderstorms and dark skies, so I went with a two toned blue look on my nails. Now, I have discussed with my fiancee and have decided to lay off buying more nail polish. I own over 400 bottles of polish, and really have all the colors I want. Only exception is limited edition and new release colors. Talking about limited release colors, I used one from Loreal's Long Fall collection, shall we?

 Brand:Loreal
Name: Rainy Piccadilly
coats:2
pigment:a deep teal creamy color
price: $ 2.99 with coupon

I saw this limited edition London Fall ccollection and had to have a few of the colors from it, this being one of them. This deep teal was calling my name, I couldn't resist.
I love how this color came out, so deep and dark. Great for the upcoming fall season, but great now for the stormy weather we had yesterday.

I did a sideways tape main across the nail with a brighter blue to play off the dark and sunny skies we were having yesterday. This was another Loreal color that called my name.

Looking at this, I shouls have hit it with a sparkle coat, but I'm happy how it came out. The lighter blue is called Jet Set To Paris and is part of the regular collection if I do recall. A bright sky blue with a smooth application. Did I mention I love Loreal's thin application brushes? A good break from some of the thicker one from Wet and Wild and Sally Hansen.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 29

Hello again everyone! Day 29 already! Almost a full month of fun designs, it's going by fast! I'm having so much fun trying a new color everyday and trying out new designs as well. Now onto today's mani, once again I have the problem of not wanting to take this design off, I am in love with it. This design came out so awesome, and the bright and dark blues just mixed so well!

Brand:Sally Hansen
Name:Navy Baby
coats:2
pigment:a deep navy blue
price: $1.49

Here is my new deep dark blue. Now without the flash it does trick the eye into looking like black. I wanted people to see this blue at work
I'm loving this line of polish, some gorgeous colors and fantastic application
So I did a half moon mani with Mirror Mirror from Funky Fingers. It looks like a sheer metallic blue onto of Navy Bay. But it really is a glitter blue, I was so so happy at how this mani turned out. You can see both blues at work and how amazingly they compliment each other!

As you can see I used my hole punch protectors again, and it came out cleaner than my last half moon mani.
Colors left to right:
Mirror Mirror
Navy Baby

I hit this with a fast dry top coat by Poshe. This is such a fun mani, I was really shocked at how well the colors worked together. I might need to pick up more Funky Finger sparkle polishes, I'm falling in love with all the colors I've used from them so far. Have you used Funky Finger polish? Love it, hate it, don't care for sparkle polish?

365 polish for a year challenge: day 28

Hello everyone! Man is it hot outside today, glad I'm inside with the AC blasting! I hope everyone is staying cool! Now onto a cool color, gray. Yes, I couldn't stay away from this creamy smooth gray from Loreal. I tried doing a glitter overlay, and found that it was a bit hard to keep the clear coat from slobbering all over my nails, oh you'll see

Brand:Loreal
Name: Cockatoos Mystery
coats:2
pigment:a smooth gray pigment
price: $2.00

Is it odd to love this color? No, it is so beautiful! Such a smooth application and beautiful pigment, don;t hate it till you wear it!
Again, I have fallen in love with Loreal polishes, and this might be my top color
Now onto the part of anger. I wanted to add multi colored sparkles, so I reached for my Spoiled Shuffle the deck. I put 3 coats on, and tried to keep the clear coat to a minimum, but it really didn't help. The sparkles went all over my nail, and I had to try to fill in empty spots. Look at my index finger, looks like a dog drooled on it! Nope, just the layers of top coat.
This could have been a super playful mani!! I learned my lesson, pick a better glitter to go over such a lovely color, and make sure it doesn't end up looking like drool. I do like to glitter color combo, just not the mess it left on my nails.  Has anyone else run into this problem with glitters before? Tell me if you have, because I know this hasn't been a first time glitter disaster for my nails.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 27

I was feeling glitter today! So I decided to try out my Milani one coat glitter, and well it took more than one coat to cover the nail (not really shocked) the shocking part was that the polish dried a rough matte look. I put a top coat on it, but it dried rough still. I'll hit it with another top coat just to see if it changes the texture. I must say, this polish dries FAST! So two pros against one con, all polishes can't be perfect

Brand:Milani
Name:Purple Gleam
coats:2
pigment:black and purple glitter
price: $4.99

only a few photos for the glitter polish. I've used Milani 3D holo polish before, and now the one coat glitter. Such a different texture.
Over all I really love the color of this polish. It did take me two coats of polish to get full coverage, but it's better than putting a ton of layers on. Like I said the polish dried very fast, but left a grainy texture from the glitter. I did put a 2nd top coat and it did smooth it out a little more.
I have one other bottle of this polish, so I might have to see how that one is when it dries. It looks like I put a black base with a purple top coat, that effect looks very cool. Other than that, I am not really impressed with this line :(

365 polish for a year challenge: day 26

Late post again, sorry. I've been so busy hanging out on my day off! Walking around Boston and enjoying the hot weather. Now I'm back and ready to post some polish photos! Today I used a new line (to me) called Jessica. I found a 6 pack of nail polishes for $5.99 at a local Marshall's and could not refuse the price! So here is my fist time using a color from this line.

Brand: Jessica
Name: Viva La Lime Light
coats:3
pigment: a thin key-lime green
price: $5.99 for a 6 pack of polish

Tragedy has struck my left hand! My middle nail cracked and I had to file it down. I hope everyone doesn't mind my right hand for a few weeks
Here is the bottle! I tried looking up the polish, and found a lot of people enjoy the polish line. I hope to find more of this line at a good price too!
I took my dotting tools out and did some dotting tips on all of my nails. I used orange, blue and pink. I'm on the fence on this color combo, it kinda works but I need to see it in the sun.
Over all I like the polish, a little thin but the color dries true to bottle.I've read that you can find them in Sally Beauty stores, I might have to take a trip to one soon to find out.  I forgot to get a photo of the pink polish with the other (I;m sorry!)
polishes from left to right:
Viva La Lime Light
Sunny Side Up
Smooth Blue
Pure Ice Flirt Alert.

365 polish for a year challenge: day 25

Hey Everyone! Sorry for the late post, but better now than never!! Today I was feeling one of the new bottles that I picked up. Now this color says it's a blue, but I swear it looks indigo. I found the perfect design to do this color justice!

Brand: Sally Hansen
Name: Thinking Of Blue
coats: 2
pigment:a an indigo-blue color with a wonderful deep pigment
price: $ 1.49

Love this line of polish. It goes on so smoothly and has wonderful color pigment that finishes glossy. This color is an indigo (like I said) but also does look blue, it's a hybrid color
I'm guessing this color is discontinued because I found it in a Job Lots. A beautiful hidden treasure!
I wanted to add more sparkles like I did with yesterday's design, so I paired it with another Funky Fingers polish to make it pop! I also used tape to make this mani happen.
Here is the bottle of Funky Fingers, and the color is called Pixy Dust. I love how to green and the indigo just work so well together. I know it sounds odd, but sometimes it's hard to find a good nail color combo that works well.  Different shades of different colors, sometimes just don't mix well

365 polish for a year challenge: day 24

Hey everyone! I was feeling a purple today! So I grabbed the recent Loreal purple I just bought and put it on. I must say, I love this line of polish. It took me 2 coats and the color just just so beautiful. A happy medium between a bright purple and a deep purple (I hope that makes sense)  This color tried true to the bottle color and well it made me think of berries. I want to call this a purple jazzberry, I hope you like the color and the finished design!

Brand: Loreal
Name:  Purple Pop
coats: 2
pigment: a deep berry color is a creamy finish
price: $1.49

This is such a beautiful color. Great pigment, only took 2 coats to put on!
Here is my happy little bottle with the old white cap
I wanted to add an extra element to this color so I put a beautiful glitter polish on for the tips, made me think of berries in the summer time
As you can see I used Funky Fingers polish.

I got a ton of people saying how unique my nails looked, and they were shocked when I told them I did it myself. I was amazed at how many people noticed them. I must admit the blue glitter was a fantastic color combo with the purple. I wish I didn't have to take this design off :(
