365 polish for a year challenge: day 112

I was feeling orange today, which if you know me is very rare. I'm not the biggest fan of reds, yellows or oranges. But today I just needed an orange autumn nail. So I grabbed one of my beautiful Sinful Colors orange bottles and got to work! Now I tried stamping again, and this one didn't come out as successful as I wanted it to. It's hard to find an opaque red and orange without buying specialty polish that runs what $8 a bottle? So I tried little apples on my nails, and only the green and kinda the red ones came out. Still cute, just need to find better stamping polishes that won't cost me an arm and a leg!

Brand: Sinful Colors
Name:  Cloud 9
coats:  3
pigment:a medium orange with a light orange shimmer
price: $1.99

This orange is so beautiful! Something I will rarely say, and kinda shocked I'm saying that. The formula is a bit on the thin side, but I was happy with 3 coats.

I love how it has the shimmer reflection, makes this polish stick out a bit more

Here are my finished stamped nails. I know Sally Hansen Insta-dri polishes tend to be more pigmented, but I guess not all of them. Oh well, still reminds me of apple picking

I used Salon Express plate 18 and used Sally Hansen Insta-dri (left to right) Jumpin' Jade, Lightening and Racey Rouge

and a little extra, here is me testing out the polishes on paper to see how bright or dull they'll come out. I figured being on an orange they might show up a little better, but really didn't. I tried 5 different shades of greens before picking Jumpin' Jade out.
I still had fun nail stamping, it can get messy but it's a lot of fun. Like I said before, I'm glad I got a new stamper or else I think I would have given up on stamping all together.

  1. I stumbled upon your blog and I am so glad I did.

So, what new stamper are you using now?

    1. I bought one off if ebay, just the little round pink one. I've seen it in kits with a few plates at the christmas tree shop for around $ 5.00 or so. It looks like the same stamper. The salon express one is too stiff and didn't pick up the polish that well
